Thank you!
You guys! What an amazing feeling to come home from a day like today and get all these sweet, touching, and funny messages from complete strangers, especially when I was pretty sure that only like 2.2 people actually read my blog. (For the record, I hate people who use the word "like", but like, it just felt really appropriate in this instance.) Moving on...
Thanks for all the well wishes about today. I do believe it turned out ok. But best not speculate on that any more. Plus, tomorrow's day is harder for me personally. I've always done bettter on essays than on multiple choice. So today I wrote my heart out (ok, maybe I just regurgitated a bunch of facts and heart has nothing to do with it), but tomorrow will be worse.
In case anyone wants to hear how the whole night before turned out. I had 2 drinks, but of course I still couldn't sleep. The whole night was spent tossing and turning. And then around 4am I got a surprise. Sometimes, I am lucky enough to have a preview of what giving birth might be like, and I have these cramps that very closely approximate birthing contractions. And no, I don't actually know what birthing contractions are like, but something tells me they are a lot like the excruciating pain that I felt at 4am this morning. So 2 advills later, and a bunch of writhing and sighing, and the pain subsided, as it always does. It never lasts for longer than 40 mins, and if it did, I am not sure what I would do to myself. After that, I blissfully fell asleep for about 50 more minutes. So when I finally woke up, I felt really really great. I figured - I've already had my dosage of "awful" for today, so the rest of the day should go smoothly. And it pretty much did. Except for my trip back home, but those are just minor details..
Since we are not allowed to bring cell phones w/ us (see yesterday's post about the barbaric bar requirements), I couldn't call Vadim to tell him to pick me up from the train station. No, don't think I forgot about the existence of pay phones. I actually got quarters and tried THREE TIMES to make a phone call, but to no avail. Either a pay phone wouldn't accept my quarter, or was not allowing local calls (pardon my french, but what the fuck??), or there was no dial tone. So.. after walkign for half hour in scorching heat to the train station, I had to also walk for half hour from the train station to my house.. Yes, there was the frantic feeling, and the almost passing out.. but I am ok now. But maybe I'll go pass out anyways.

It's over. Congratulations on the accomplishment. You have taken me back. My best memory of this time in my life was that I kept having reasons to throw parties - last day of exams, graduation, last day of the bar, the letter that I passed and then the ceremony. That was the last year of my life that I threw 5 parties in one year! I remember the fun, not the anxiety. I hope you have a fabulous bash tonight. From just your blog I know that you have studied, are thoughtful and write very well. You will pass, I am sure.
